Hi Everyone, and welcome to my blog :) I'm so glad you stopped by!
I write books for children and love what I do. I started this blog to share my adventures in the wonderful world of children's literature with parents, teachers, librarians, and other writers. I hope to offer a little something for everyone. Monday alternates between Oh Susanna, a feature where you can write in and ask any question you may have about reading, writing, teaching children's books, etc., and Short & Sweets, fun writing prompts/tips/exercises for kids and grown-ups. Would You Read It Wednesday is a weekly post especially for writers, and Perfect Picture Book Fridays celebrate highly recommended picture books and focus on expanding their use at home and in the classroom, so very useful for parents and teachers. In addition, there are usually monthly author/illustrator interviews and book giveaways, and I hold writing contests approximately every other month - fun for writers and readers! :)
I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, chauffeur, housekeeper (not my strongest suit :)), laundress, animal-loving, reader, writer, rider-when-I-get-the-chance, gardener-wanna-be, former teacher. Among other things... :)
I love to visit schools whenever I get the chance and share my passion for reading and writing with kids. I'm currently embarking on learning to do school visits by Skype.
